Yoga Journal’s website has really come a long way in the past year. I used to subscribe to their magazine but I stopped because it was filled with so many advertisements. I’ve contemplated renewing my subscription simply because I like their website so much that I want to show my support somehow. Anyway, I am so excited about their new Yoga Journal TV. I can remember when finding a free yoga class online was almost impossible. There was Yoga Peeps, of course, great podcasts but you would usually have to pay for an online class and even then the quality of the video wasn’t all that good. Now we have better technology. With the popularity of YouTube and people uploading their own yoga tutorials, you can’t help but wonder why it’s taken Yoga Journal this long to follow suite.

I used to subscribe to Jason Crandel’s podcast tutorials so it’s really nice to actually see him teach visually. I really appreciate how interactive he is with his students, adjusting them and such. That’s one thing I haven’t noticed much in the amateur videos on YouTube. Tutorials are more effective when you have a teacher and student interacting as opposed to just the teacher.
